About Jungle Belles

About us

Jungle Belles is a venture exclusively for women by women started by Hemangi Vartak and Aarti Karve.

Vision:

Our vision is to build empathy and engagement in the minds of urban women regarding wildlife and conservation so that we can work towards creating a sustainable future for wildlife.

Mission:

We will achieve our vision by striving to build love for wildlife in urban women and raising their awareness about challenges faced by wildlife so that they can pass this legacy down to the next generations.

Organizing getaways for urban women from their stress-filled routine and giving them an opportunity to be amidst nature by introducing them to various habitats and wildlife is one way to build love and awareness. Visiting forests and being in nature is a great way to rejuvenate from the daily grind and to get a break from the concrete jungle that we live in. We achieve this objective by organizing trips exclusively for women to various forests like Tadoba, Kanha, Pench (to name a few) and to habitats such as Ujani Bird Sanctuary, Mayureshwar, Sinhgad Bird Valley etc.

Our tours are a platform for women to go out on their own with other likeminded women and spend time on their passion. This also gives them an opportunity to make new friends with women who share their interest.

We also organize events that help raise awareness about wildlife for all audiences. We have had eminent guests like Mr.Mohan Thomas (Photographer), Mr.Nalla Muthu (Filmmaker and Photographer), Mr. Nitin Kakodkar (PCCF, Wildlife) grace our programs. In the current situation where live events are no longer possible we have continued the trend of bringing interesting personalities to our platform by switching to webinar based events. We have had guests like Mr. Satyajit Gujar (FD, Sahyadri Tiger Reserve), Mr.Clement Francis (Photographer), Ms. Abharna Maheswaran (DCF), Mr. Alok Kumar (PCCF Wildlife, MP) on our webinars.

We also offer customized webinars to corporate clients where employees can experience wildlife through talk shows by wildlife experts, go on an online outing with us and lose the indoor blues.

On the social front we have raised money for the guides and gypsy drivers of Nagzira, Bandhavgad, Panna and Melghat forests as their lives and incomes have been severely affected by the pandemic. We also conducted a sweater donation drive for the guides and gypsy drivers in the Melghat forest. With the generosity of our patrons we were able to donate 250 sweaters and the pure happiness on the faces of these people on receiving this small token was a very humbling experience.
